B. Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering : Overview

This branch of engineering was started in the year 1977.  Electronics & communication engineering teaches the use of semiconductor devices to create electronic circuits, integrated circuits and devices. This department of engineering also offers one post graduation course called M. Tech in Communication Systems which started in the year 2012. The department has tie ups with Tata Consultancy Services, Network Systems Private Limited etc for internships and research works to be conducted. As this department always strives to do the best, the top rank holders of the university comes mostly from this branch every year. The branch is home to 11 laboratories for various subjects taught in four academic years. The labs are Electronic Devices & Circuits Laboratory, Digital Integrated Circuits Laboratory, Communication Engineering Laboratory, Microprocessor/Microcontroller Laboratory, VLSI Design Laboratory, Electronic Product Design & Fabrication Lab, Digital Signal Processing Laboratory, Department Computing Facility, PG & Research Laboratory, Power Electronics and Instrumentation Lab. There are two main association of this branch namely Electronics & Communication association and Institute of Electronics & Tele communication engineering.

Eligibility for Admission

A student must secure 50% marks for their plus two board examination in the subjects of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. While SC/ST seats are reserved according to the government rules and regulations, 15% of seats are reserved for the management quota and 10% seats for the NRI quota. There is an intake of 60 seats per academic year.

There are few main entrance examinations in which a student should qualify because admissions are based on both the ranking got in both state and all India entrance examinations
